With a degree from San Francisco State in Exercise Physiology and certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Nikki has literally taken her sports to the street. As a competitive Triathlete and USAT Level One Coach, Nikki has earned the mutual respect among her peers and clients.
“Every client has unique goals – whether it’s performance, physical conditioning, or any other goal that they always wanted to accomplish but weren’t sure they could reach. I’m fascinated by the capabilities of the human body and use short-term goals to help clients build behavioral changes into their lifestyles. Cardiovascular conditioning is my area of special interest. It’s great for me to take what I’ve learned as an endurance athlete and apply my knowledge of the heart functions to people of all types.
It’s important for me to understand why the client is there and what they need. If I’m working with a busy mom who is trying to work and raise small children, the program I’ll design will be different than one developed for a competitive athlete. The individual personality, more than anything, is what is taken into account when I develop my clients’ programs. If you have a habit you want to break, we build in baby steps so you can achieve that goal. Nobody sticks to rapid change – taking things slowly is what makes goals attainable and the change more permanent.
