Training Philosophy:
From my six years in the industry, I have been privileged enough to work with all types of people and styles of training. With that, I have had to modify my training philosophy to work with all of the groups that I have worked with. From intense athletes to pre/post knee replacements, and recently an aqua training a stroke victim whose entire vocabulary is about 5 words.
I recently came across (while working out) my newest philosophy: “the pursuit of excellenceâ€. I was watching a young boy being wheeled into the gym by his mom and headed for the pool area. I glanced over to see what his handicap was and to maybe offer a hand. The boy amazed me. He got out of his wheelchair and started swimming laps. I wanted so much to go in and congratulate him and his mother for her support to bring her son in to swim. Not only for the exercise, but to feel comfortable with his handicap.
Everyone has a handicap. Whether it is visible or deep within someone. We all have obstacles that need to be overcome some way or another.
